Stop smoking cold turkey tips and what to expect?

Question by Beach bum: Stop smoking cold turkey tips and what to expect?
Hi! I am badly wanting to quit my smoking habit. I am 31 and have been smoking since 21. I don’t have extra money for patches, pills, gum etc. I would like to hear some personal stories of people quitting cold turkey. Is it really as bad as people hype it up to be? My best friend who smokes will be gone for five days so I would like to get a move on this. Any tips would also be appreciated. Thank you

If you’re looking to smoke cold meats, you need to rub down the outside with brine so that pellicle (a layer of flavor receptive proteins) forms.
After the outside is dry but still tacky, smoke at a low temperature (180-210F) with your chosen wood chips (for turkey I like pecan wood) until the meat reaches your desired level of smokiness.

Enjoy!

Do NOT watch any movies/shows that could have smoking in it, even one cig. Don’t listen to music with the word in it. Throw away all of your cigs. Write “Don’t sell me cigarettes I’m trying to quit” in whiteout on your ID. Um, print out pictures of lung cancer and cancer mouth and nasty teeth and tape them/leave them all around your house esp. where you kept your cigs and where you used to smoke. Um idk good luck.

My aunt is 36 and she quit smoking cold turkey almost a year ago and hasn’t had one since. Things that she said happened to her was mood swings, anxiety, and unbelievable cravings. She said things that helped was chewing gum when she’d have a craving for a cigarette or eating frozen popsicles.
